David’s Latest Phone Message

It is so cute, since it was two days earlier, he recorded it a day before the Macy Parade. He talks about how he used to watch it, and how he’s so glad he was going to be in it this year. He also asked us to leave a voice message telling him what we were doing for Thanksgiving (even though Thanksgiving for me was about two months ago I think…Whoot Canadians and Americans!). He’s too cute.                                                                                     And that little ringtone message always tacked on at the end is utterly adorable!

I feel I will have to review this ALL OVER AGAIN, but for now, I am going to watch ALTNOY and You Can and perhaps provide are partly decisive review while my head is spinning and my heart’s in my stomach. Soo keep up and watch her for my review!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hey Guys! Just wanted to say that I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!! We were in New York this week, and I had a blast! Yesterday was the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and that was really exciting. I was on the Green Dog float, and there were tons and tons and tons of people on the sides. It was pretty chilly too, but I heard that it was a really nice day compared to previous years haha. I bundled and layered up as much as I could though. I sang Crush near the end, and a couple of songs played during our time going down the streets. And there’s a mouse in here. Sorry I know that was random, but I can hear it wandering around and it keeps squeaking. I didn’t think there would be mice here but I guess there are… But anyway. Some kids from the PBS show Fetch were on my float too, and they were really nice kids. I also got to meet a bunch of other people who were in the parade, and it was really great getting to meet and talk with them. Miranda Cosgrove from iCarly was there too, and it was really cool to see and talk to her again. The sad thing is that I didn’t have my camera or phone with me, so I didn’t get to take my own pictures. Someone that worked there was nice enough to let me borrow their camera though before the parade started and I took pictures on my float, and on the Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends float! I know I’m such a dork but that’s my favorite cartoon lol. I was so excited to see it because it wasn’t too far behind me. But they were going to send me the pictures sometime soon.
The night before Thanksgiving, my mom and I went to see the musical In The Heights, and it was pretty much PHENOMENAL. It is seriously like one of my favorite musicals now. It was great that my mom was able to come to this particular musical too because it’s full of Latin music. So we had a great time with that, and also got to meet some of the cast members from it. I definitely recommend it if you ever get the chance to see it! The cast from the musical was also in the parade and did a number. Oh, the night before we saw the musical, my mom and I watched Twilight. I never read the books but a bunch of my friends are really into it, and the movie’s been getting a bunch of hype so we decided to go see it. I actually really liked it. The weird thing is when we walked into the theater Crush was playing so we walked back out because it was so weird haha. But anyway my blogs always get insanely longer than I intend for them to be, so I’ll end for today. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

P.S. It was really fun to see all the signs you guys made during the parade! haha

Songs for the day: Decode – Paramore (From the Twilight Soundtrack) It shows just how great of a singer Hayley is.

I just about DIED when I read this blog. Okay, when do I not die? But one, HAHA David randomnly mentioning a mouse! Lool He’s getting so much more comfortable with blogging, he wouldn’t have mentioned something like that before. AND OHMYHECK HE SAW TWILIGHT, AND LIKED IT????
Twilight is like my absolute favourite series. I had no idea David even knew about it, ofcourse it probably is all the hype now. I can’t believe he actually went and watched it though! Just another connection between him and me…sigh….LOL okay I’m back. What’s sad is that he has seen the movie, AND I HAVEN’T YET!

I have to tell you, listening to that (it sounded more like in the actual song than his usual live performances, they must have reverbed his voice a little while singing, maybe a better mic?..but it made it all the more better!), I fell…..well, the more appropriate word would be “rose”….up to the happiest place I could ever be on Earth. That feeling of euphoria…best part of my day, I’m not even joking. And ohmygosh, those two looks he gives at the end, the serious, and the shy smile……I was gone and dead. I screamed into my hand at how amazing it was

I have to say, I have found a completely new appreciation for this song, now that I see how wonderfully it can be performed. I’m not even going to try to explain all the little moments which drove chills through my whole body, but I’ll leave it at…definetely a perfect “performing live” song.

Ofcourse, I’m sure him singing his own songs influenced the vibe of euphoria (there’s that word again…I learned it in health….it means an extreme state of happiness ). Amazing E! Interview at the set of David’s AOL Sessions!

What are AOL Sessions? Well, they are artists/singers singing five of their songs live. Not really live, like in front of an audience (I’m pretty sure it’s not), but just performing them with the mic in his hand and stuff. David Cook has his Sessions posted up already actually, so if you wanna get a look at them, go here and browse through them!

So, yes, RYAN SEACREST is back on the David Archuleta train…hahaha what I mean is that I really haven’t heard of them catching up or anything after Idol, so unless I’m wrong….hahaha .

Cook fans: My Review of Cook’s Album!

In a new brought Cook-Rush I’ve gotten, I’ve decided to go ahead and listen to Cook’s album, and from the songs I’ve already heard, I now feel truly bad for not buying his CD when I first saw it on the shelfs last Saturday at HMV. I would have bought it too, if I had the money to buy it with me! Somehow, I feel it will be sold out by next Saturday, but now that I think about it, when I checked last Saturday, Archie’s album was not sold out at all yet, and it had been out for almost two weeks, (I’m sure many people still bought Archie’s album ofcourse….maybe they restock all the time ) so I’m hoping that there will still be a bunch of Cook CD’s still in stock next Saturday also, since it only released last week, so that I can buy it. Yes….an Archie wants to buy Cook’s album!

This is gonna bother me…whether there will be more Cook CD’s in stock for me to buy….until Saturday, so for now I’m going to go and review the songs I have listened to so far from Cook’s album, for any Cook or Cook-Archie fans here!

Permanent: So far, my favourite song that I have heard from his album. It is so….what is the word….deep? The piano intro is intensifying, and it just intensifies more and more throughout the song. Maybe it’s because I love ballads, but I just love the song. It shows so much emotion. It is an amazing song.

A Daily Anthem: This song is also a kind-of slow song, but more picked-up then Permanent. I like the intro, and the verse in his lower registry is amazing. When it’s the chorus, and he sings, “It’s A…..”, you can just feel the lift of the song bring you up. Perfect song.

Time Of My Life: What can I say? I loved this since I heard it and watched it performed the night David Cook sang it when he was announced American Idol. It is such an inspirational song, it’s lyrics so lifting. I can just feel myself swaying with it when I listen. Awesome!

I Did It For You: The tune of this is…happier than say the song…Permanent. It’s actually pretty similar to “A Daily Anthem”, so I’m not sure how to critique it. But, for sure, it is it’s own song. It’s a really nice song.

Avalanche: The song has a slow tune at the beginning, but you can feel it building up to the chorus.  It’s a nice song, maybe not the nicest in the album, but definetely a nice listen.

Lie: I like this song. It’s slow. It’s not like a “slow and then build up to chorus” song, it maintains the about same speed throughout the song, even though it does build up a little bit on the second chorus, but not so much. That doesn’t mean it isin’t good. It is, it really is. It’s something like…”You Can” on Archie’s album. It doesn’t super build up, it maintains about the same speed and tone throughout. A nice listen

Bar-ba-sol: Just from the name, you can tell it’s a unique song. It is. This song might just contain the most “rock” then the other songs, but you can feel a little hint of…jazz, I think. Definetely one of the more “rock” songs on the album. Not a personal fav, but cool all in all.

Come Back To Me: I like the intro to this song, it kind of takes you and makes you feel like bopping in your seat a little, in it’s rythm. It’s catchy. Soft verse, with a stronger chorus, like alot of his songs, but catchy rythm.

Light On: As his first single, I think it was a good choice. Seems like a really good radio-friendly song. I love the chorus. Really catchy. Defintely a good first single.

Phew!
I think I missed a few songs, but I will critique those ones a little later.
All in all, there is a definite sound in Cook’s album, unlike Archie’s, which has a bit of everything. That does conclude alot of Cook’s songs to be similar, but it is still a good listen.

I absolutely adore “Permanent”.
